Gloria Has Gone To Her Forever Home In Heaven
Dear Friends, Family, and Partners of AICM,
It is with profound sadness and grief that I'm writing to inform you about a tragic event that has taken place at Agape Children's Village (ACV). Yesterday, one of the children who lived in ACV passed away due to health complications. Gloria was 17 years old and lived in ACV for over 10 years.
Gloria fell sick several weeks ago and was sent home from school where she was treated by our staff nurse. Gloria’s situation deteriorated, and she was taken by ambulance to a hospital in the capital city of Kampala (there have been many travel restrictions due to Covid-19). After receiving some treatment there, the hospital determined they were not equipped to handle her needs. Gloria was then transferred to another hospital where she was tested and treated for meningitis. Her care and treatment continued evolving, as her situation changed almost daily. Two days ago, Gloria passed away from the complications associated with her meningitis diagnosis.
We have come to you begging for prayer and support in the last few weeks. You have stepped up, petitioned in prayer, and given generously toward helping her. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We could have never imagined that it would come to this. Gloria was a fighter and loved Jesus with all her heart. Gloria was loved by so many and there are many broken hearts. This loss will forever leave a hole in the AICM family.
We still desperately need your prayers. Please pray for comfort for the grieving children and caretakers on the ground in Uganda. Please pray for our staff in Uganda.
With you, for Him,
Aaron Cronen
