More Than a Degree: AIUS Students and Alumi Gather to Scatter

At the heart of Agape International Children Ministries (AICM) lies a profound mission – to Evangelize, Empower, Educate, and Equip the nation's most vulnerable children. With unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as their guiding light, AICM created the Agape Institute and University Scholarship (AIUS) program, driven by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to fulfill their God-given potential.

The AIUS program was born from a simple yet powerful desire: to offer higher education to sponsored young men and women. AICM envisioned a future where these students could pursue their dreams and vocations, equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with a deep-rooted faith in Christ.

Recently, AICM organized a gathering that brought together current AIUS students and alumni. The event took place at the picturesque Kampala Nile Resort, setting the stage for a day filled with faith, inspiration, and camaraderie.

Travis Collins, the Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Santa Barbara, was a special guest at the gathering. He delivered two powerful sessions that resonated with the attendees. In the first session, he encouraged them to live, work, and study with the Kingdom of God as their true north. The second session delved into the "HEART of leadership," offering valuable insights that could be applied in the workplace.

One AIUS alumna, Barbra, expressed her appreciation for Travis's teachings, saying, "I surely enjoyed Travis’s teaching. He taught us about God's Kingdom and our primary role as sons and daughters in it. It was quite an interesting session. He also taught us about the heart of leadership, where I surely learned something to guide me at my workplace. I personally learned something new and also had a lot of fun."

The AIUS program's primary goal is to empower and equip young adults to become world changers for Jesus Christ. Completing their degree programs while receiving discipleship along the way, these young men and women are being prepared to bring their love for Jesus into their future workplaces. Faith in Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of everything AICM represents. It permeated every aspect of the gathering, reminding all participants of their higher purpose.

As students shared lunch and laughter, the room was filled with hope and inspiration. Alumni, many of them the first graduates of the AIUS program, sat with current students, offering encouragement and guidance. They engaged Travis Collins with deep and meaningful questions, publicly declaring their commitment to living and working with a Kingdom mindset.

AICM is not just changing lives; it is creating a generational impact. These former sponsored children, now empowered with education and faith, are poised to enter the workforce as self-sustaining, productive members of society. They are ready to be world changers for Jesus Christ, carrying the torch of faith and hope into the future.
