Update from our Director in Uganda, Azarias Nelson Kibaya.

I'm seated in my office this morning looking outside through the window, and I’m seeing no one. It's so quiet outside. Before the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns, the children at Agape Primary School would be shouting as they begin their studies.  There is beauty in the sounds that are made by children. I love hearing these children share their dreams with each other.

Dreams are important and they move us forward. Four years ago, when we looked at the faces outside Agape Children’s Village (ACV), we saw a great number of children whose dreams looked so shattered while our very own on the property of ACV lived a life that was full of expectations and great dreams.

Because of this, we started the Agape Child Community Sponsorship Program. The program was officially launched in August of 2016. We have seen the ACCS program grow and reach almost three hundred children within our community, and others in Iganga.

We have invested our lives in the lives of these children, and have seen them filled with hope as we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. We have seen them give their lives to Christ! We have seen their lives change, and their families lives change within their own homes.

Because many of the children in our community attend Agape Primary School, we have been able to support the school teachers financially every month during the unprecedented lockdowns in Uganda. We have been able to keep a smile on their faces and their families fed.

Through our children in the ACCS program, we’ve also been able to provide food relief to more than 100 families affected by the lockdowns. We have given corn flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar and other food items to them.

As we celebrate the four year anniversary of the ACCS program, we are so thankful for the support that we have received!  Your partnership with AICM has been helping a great deal in taking care of the medical bills, school fees, and feeding of the children in the program.

The AICM staff are still working hard and are monitoring the situations of all the individual children.  They are reaching out to the children and families that are facing difficult circumstances.  As we look forward into the future our emphasis will be on relief for the families because many of them have lost their incomes and can no longer provide a meal for their families. We will also be reaching out to the Iganga community more often, as we have heard in the previous week that the families there are not well.

I bless the Lord for all our ministry partners that have continued to support the work in Uganda during this hard time. May the Almighty God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ reward you in this life and the life to come eternal life.
