Christmas in Uganda... How Many Goats!?
Christmas 2020 in Uganda was a little bit crazy. It was a combination of Noah’s Ark, a Christmas party, and the end of It’s A Wonderful Life, where everyone is giving and crying at the same time. And honestly? Christmas in Uganda surprised, inspired, and humbled AICM. It was a Christmas like we’d never seen before. Let me tell you about it.
Sponsors and strangers and everyone in between pitched in to make it an amazing Christmas. Rounding up gifts for dozens and dozens (and DOZENS more!) of children is no easy feat, but with your support and the diligent work of the staff in Uganda, every single child received a gift.
Wow.
We may take gifts for granted, but these children - the ones who are so poor they can’t even imagine the phenomenon of gifts at Christmas - take them very, very seriously. Bibles, clothes, livestock... The gifts were practical but so extravagantly out of the ordinary for these children.
At Agape Children’s Village, a new tenant was spotted on Christmas: a huge, wonderful, [pregnant!!], mass-milk-producing, tail-twitching, darling COW! And throughout the community, over 40 goats now amble in their respective yards, bringing new opportunities to their owners, families whose children are sponsored with AICM. Just imagine the sight of 40 goats being transported to the village and walked to their new owners!
The staff in Uganda put in many, many hours to ensure the gifts were bought and distributed. But their labor was not in vain! The gifts they delivered were not just flimsy toys and disappearing candy. They were gifts that will last for years and will bring needed help to these families in Uganda.
You truly were the reason for this abundance of Christmas.
Your extreme generosity was seen.
It made a difference.
It brought joy, laughter, comfort, and meaning to these children’s lives.
They felt your love from across the world.
We at Agape International Children’s Ministry want to thank you for impacting lives year-round and even more extravagantly this last Christmas. We are so incredibly thankful for you!

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
