Witnessing Miracles: Bringing the Gospel to 250 Children in Uganda by Zoe Morris
Today, our team saw the fruits of their hard labor in coming to Uganda. After enduring slow funding for some team members, nightmares at the airport, and traveling for over 60 hours, we saw firsthand the reason for Christ bringing each and every one of our wonderful women to Uganda.
Today was our first Vacation Bible School of the trip. In Bukerere, we saw 250 children attend our Vacation Bible School. There are many incredible praise reports and memories, and here are a few.
The students adored dancing for Jesus with fun songs led by Moses Balli, some of our discipleship women, and our team. They danced and sang at the top of their lungs, shouting praises to the Lord.
They also enjoyed a beautiful craft led by Tessa Bhola and various games led by Summer Bhola. Our skit about evil fishermen turning from their ways and converting by the loving example of the good fisherman was excitedly received by the kids.
But the most exciting praise report of the day came after our three messages led by Selah Balli, Zoe Morris, and Summer Bhola. Selah taught on the Gospel message, Zoe outlined the practical ways God loves us, and Summer shared about loving others while emphasizing the important fact that the greatest way we can show our neighbor love is by sharing the Good News with them. After Summer shared her message, she asked the audience if there were any children who wanted to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior for the first time in their lives. With the help of Joanne’s translation, the two women tag-teamed in helping bring 54 children to Christ!
Our team here in Uganda cannot begin to express our excitement and pure joy at this praise report! We are blown away by the warm reception of these children to the Gospel and the Lord.
This alone is worth all the blood, sweat, and tears it took to bring this team to Uganda, and we have barely even begun our journey here!
