Perspectives Change in Perspectives Class
The perspectives course is an international, three-hour credit course, that is offered by various institutions through their missiological department. As a team that has evangelism as one of our core values, we’ve been challenged to start thinking outside the “box” in how we spread the message of the gospel.
In Uganda, Perspectives on the world Christian movement is a 15 weeks course that is offered by the Proclamation Task, a neighboring ministry here on the Agape Hill.
So far, we have covered 4 weeks of the course and the growth is tremendous in the lives of the staff at the AICM office and at ACV as well. We have had great lecturers and facilitators by pastors as well as leaders of para-church organizations. The urgency to take the gospel message to the end of the world the basis for our existence and through this training, it’s getting clearer and clearer every class.
For the past few years, AICM has been training others through seminars and conferences and this perspectives training has offered us an opportunity to have people pour into our hearts and minds, exhorting us to live for our cause at AICM.
The following are some testimonies from the AICM staff:
“The Perspectives class has given me a clear reason for the missionary calling. It has helped me realize that as Christ’s follower, it is my mandate to participate with God in evangelism to make His name famous which in the end brings glory to God. It has also helped me understand the purpose of God’s blessings in my life. God has blessed me, to be a blessing to His people, for His name to be glorified through me.” Sylvia
“ I have fully understood the meaning of “Hallowed be Thy Name” in the Lord’s prayer. I used to say it because Jesus taught His disciples to, but I had never attached a meaning to it. I have learned how to pray with meaning in my prayers. I have learned to cherish God’s name and give Him His due worth in prayer.” Joan
“The overlapping lesson for me in the Perspectives Class is understanding my faith by God's perspective; how it’s all about Him, for Him and, by Him. I must understand that through His word, His purpose has been revealed in the promise to Abraham and his descendants so that ultimately the nations would be drawn to the worship of the One true God. My role in all this is to continue being obedient and an active participant in the evangelism enterprise, using all opportunities to communicate in words and deeds the gospel of the kingdom of God.” Alex
“The Perspectives class has been my first direct training and exposure to missions work. I used to think the call to missions only existed in the new testament, but Perspectives has enabled me to trace it back from Genesis chapter three, the proto Evangelium. In order to reveal Himself to the world, God humbled and emptied Himself. This is the requirement for those who want to reveal God to the world through missions. I also realized the importance of evangelizing the world in relation to the second coming of Christ, Matthew 24:14.” Sam
“First of all, I am so happy that you advocated for us to get this chance to learn new truths. I have always read them in the Bible, but never really had my eyes open to this kind of knowledge. I have come to learn that before even God chose Abraham, redemption for all of us was at His heart. Before Perspectives class, I always thought Israel was a big deal yet now I know that God just used it to bring redemption to all of us. We are equal to them. I have also learned and confirmed that God is a fair judge (judging according to the dispensation of time). The sole purpose of my knowing Christ is to be a partner in bringing all people to Him to worship the One true and living God.” Monica
We bless the Lord for all those are making sure that this happens and keep praying for us each week.
