May Mission Team Returns Home

This May, a group of four women embarked on an adventure to Uganda that they’ll never forget! Led by AICM President, Sandi Balli, they served tirelessly for over two weeks supporting AICM projects and staff. Together, they ministered to hundreds of women and children in Uganda and Burundi. Below you will find testimonies from each of these incredible servants and friends of AICM.

“This was the most impactful mission trip I've been on so far! I would have to say visiting Kabale was a highlight, God showed up, miraculous is an understatement! Women were set free, there were re-dedications to the Lord and many women received salvation! The most humbling experience for me was when a beautiful Ugandan woman gifted me the dress that I complimented her on the day before; it just broke me... I will never forget her generosity! I could write for days about how God showed up for us and the women of Africa!” - Mary Jo

“Agape Children’s Village, a home for orphaned and vulnerable children, holds a special place in my heart. The children at ACV are so welcoming and happy. You can definitely see the impact the church and staff have made in their lives, which is so inspiring, and makes me want to be a part of it too!

I also loved hearing about the poultry program offered to single mothers. These mothers get taught an important skill so they can provide for their children while at home. They are given 5 hens and a rooster to start their poultry farm. Ugandans have a strong sense of community and seemed to take care of each other. I hope to be able to go again someday. The Lord was definitely present throughout our entire trip!” - Staci

“Our trip to Uganda and Burundi was a life changing experience for me. God moved in my life, our team, and the lives of the women we ministered to. One moment that stands out to me is day two of our DWELL conference in Kabale. Sandi shared the Gospel in her last teaching and gave an invitation to stand and pray against strongholds in their lives. One by one, women began to stand and as they stood our team made our way to lay hands and pray with them. They were standing quicker than we could get to them and there were more women than we had hands and so we began to gather them in groups so we could wrap our arms around them. I remember the moments as we laid hands on their backs, you could feel their rigid posture soften and sink into our touch, and for many the tears began to fall as they surrendered their situations to the Lord. What a privilege it was to stand beside those brave women and intercede on their behalf!” - Amy

“Two stories immediately come to mind when I think of my very first missions trip to Uganda. The first that captures my heart is the eight people who accepted the Lord as their Savior in Gonve Village, after our conference there! We were able to provide Bibles to them and pray for them after their conversion. The eight rejoiced, we rejoiced, and the angels in Heaven rejoiced as we saw these people connect with our Living God!

The second happened In Bukerere, where I met a little two-year-old boy who was wandering the streets while his mother worked. His name is Jorum, and his antics quickly captured my heart! He followed us as we gave food to a family whose child was sponsored. He would hide around the corner and then suddenly peek at me. I asked him to join us in our prayer circle, but he said no. However, half-way through our prayer, he touched my hand (and my heart!), indicating that he wanted to join our circle and pray with us!” - Melinda
