Agape Children’s Village (ACV)

Agape Children’s Village is a home for the most vulnerable, abandoned and orphaned children of Uganda.  ACV is dedicated to the children, to the surrounding community, and most importantly, to God. We employ Ugandans who, with the help of missionaries and international volunteers, keep ACV a healthy and happy home for our children.

Meet Nalwadda Joan…

I came to Agape Children’s Village (ACV) when I was 8 years old with my brother who was 6 years old at the time. This is a place which I know as home. When my parents divorced, I was 7 years old and they left me in the house with my brother and I became a mother to him. I did a lot of work and gave up my own schooling to take care of my brother and to ensure that we had food every day. This was not easy for me.

My sponsor was told about the condition we were living in and plans were made to bring us to ACV. I didn’t want to go to ACV though, because I was used to the condition we were living in. Later I accepted and went to ACV and it was the best home I have ever had. Everything was nice and I didn’t have to take care of my brother anymore because we had mother there who took care of us. I was taken back to school and I’m now in my last year of university. I’m grateful to God for ACV.
